A Parting, A Meeting
Jeremy left only dust in his wake; particles of conversations, essences of sensations, flashes of colorful tastes. I was left with a strange disconnection to my own past. He was my phantom limb, my unrealized dream. Your crystal gaze reenergized me and I've forgotten to scratch that strange old itch.

She Was Out of His League
Each day, Brian watched Sue sway past his cubical. Her delicate hands gripped the porcelain curves of her coffee mug; a crescent of magenta lipstick hugged the rim. Each night, she arched her back in the moonlit threads until his alarm clock sang. The arms on the clock stopped moving.

Telling Tales
"The sword was just out of reach," said Sir Alexander. "I tumbled toward it, fire coursed over my lunging, armored frame. The blazing metal singed skin."
"Did you slay the dragon?" the wide eyed stranger asked through a beer foam mustache.
"Yes, but the bastard took my arm with him."
